Louis W. Gresham

Louis W. Gresham is the Co-Founder and CEO of CQB military simulation developer Hydratac Inc., which is backed by 1am Gaming VC and HGM Fund. He has built companies as a founder/executive/operator/investor and designed virtual products for gamers, military, and law enforcement for over 20 years.

After bootstrapping his first tech company to exit while an undergraduate at Yale, Louis led gaming at Deloitte Federal’s GovLab incubator and worked with the Navy and Department of Homeland Security. He worked as Producer at Riot Games while at Stanford for his MBA, and with Riot’s support left his position there and founded Cape while graduating.

Millions of players and viewers enjoyed Cape’s PC drone flight and dogfighting platform. Players flew drones thousands of miles away with near-zero control and camera latency. The platform’s adoption by military, security, and police personnel led to Cape’s acquisition by Motorola Solutions in 2019. Cape was backed with $20M of capital by New Enterprise Associates, Google’s AI fund (Gradient), and others.

Following Cape, Louis spent a year at Google X (Google’s R&D and frontier technology unit) before being brought into March Capital for the launch of its first dedicated games investment vehicle. As a partner there and then cofounder of the spinout 1am Gaming VC, he led seed and Series A investments and represented 1am on Boards before returning to entrepreneurship to found Hydratac.
